One of our missions at Voyêtre is to protect the environment and the world that surrounds us, to ensure the wellbeing of current and future generations, and to take care and respect our home.
With this in mind, during these past 2 years since Voyêtre was born we have taken action in creating the Voyêtre (SPB) forest, a reforestation of 3.000 trees in Valencia, Spain. Our employees have collaborated in this activity and thanks to them we now are proud to have two forests that will enrich the areas of Valencia (Spain).
These 3.000 trees have been planted in the areas of La Yesa and La Cañada de San Juan, in Requena, a well-known area in Valencia, Spain.
- In March 2021 we planted in Requena a total of 2.000 trees;600 pinus halapensis and 400 holm oaks (quercux ilex).
- In March 2022 we planted in La Yesa a total of 000 trees; 200 pinus halepensis, 200 pinus pinea, 200 pistacia lentiscus and 400 holm oaks (quercux ilex).
The reforested area in La Cañada de San Juan, Requena (Valencia, Spain) is a beautiful and historic place where the livestock passed by when going to Madrid. In fact, even during the war it was a protected area, so animals could pass by. Currently this area is used for hiking and cycling, a place to reconnect with nature.
This initiative is part of a wider plan of activities within the Corporate social responsibility of VOYÊTRE (SPB) to make up for the carbon footprint impact. It is estimated that during the life of a pinus halepensis it absorbs 277 kg of CO2, while a Quercus Ilex absorbs 400 kg of CO2.
